Manhajuna: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam

Manhajuna: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by the Postgraduate Program of Institut KH. Ahmad Sanusi Sukabumi, Indonesia. This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities expected of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher. These guidelines are established in accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of a scholarly article in a peer-reviewed journal is a fundamental component in the advancement of a coherent and credible body of knowledge. It directly reflects the integrity and quality of the work produced by authors and their affiliated institutions. It is therefore essential that all parties involved in the publication process (authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher) adhere to the highest ethical standards.

The Postgraduate Program of Institut KH. Ahmad Sanusi Sukabumi, as the publisher of Manhajuna, takes its responsibilities as a guardian of scholarly publishing seriously. The editorial board is firmly committed to ensuring that no commercial, financial, or advertising interests exert any influence on editorial decisions.

Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions The Editor-in-Chief holds full responsibility for deciding which submitted manuscripts are accepted for publication. Such decisions must be guided by the scholarly merit, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's focus and scope. Editors may consult with members of the editorial board or peer reviewers in reaching their decisions, and must ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements concerning defamation, copyright, and plagiarism.
Fair Play Manuscripts must be evaluated solely on the basis of their intellectual and academic merit. No discrimination shall be made on the grounds of the authors' race, gender, ethnic origin, nationality, religious affiliation, or political views.
Confidentiality The editor and all members of the editorial staff are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. Information regarding any submission must not be disclosed to any party other than the corresponding author, assigned reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher, as deemed appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest Unpublished information or ideas disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research or shared with others without the explicit written consent of the author. Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions Peer review plays a vital role in supporting the editor's decision-making process and in assisting authors to improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive scholarly feedback.
Promptness Any reviewer who feels insufficiently qualified to assess a submitted manuscript, or who is unable to complete the review within the designated timeframe, is obligated to notify the editor promptly and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality All manuscripts received for review are strictly confidential. Reviewers must not disclose, share, or discuss the content of any manuscript with any third party without explicit authorization from the editor.
Standards of Objectivity Reviews must be conducted with full academic objectivity and professionalism. Personal criticism directed at the author is strictly prohibited. Reviewers are expected to present their assessments clearly and constructively, supported by well-reasoned academic arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources Reviewers are expected to identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any claim that a particular observation, argument, or conclusion has been previously reported must be accompanied by the corresponding citation. Reviewers must also bring to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or potential overlap between the manuscript under review and any other published work within their knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest Confidential information or ideas obtained through the peer review process must not be used for personal or professional advantage. Reviewers must not assess manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, personal, or institutional relationships with the authors, affiliated institutions, or organizations connected to the submitted work.

Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards Authors of original research must present an accurate, honest, and transparent account of the work conducted, along with an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data must be represented accurately. The manuscript must contain sufficient methodological detail and references to allow others to replicate the study. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute a serious breach of research ethics and will not be tolerated.
Originality and Plagiarism Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts represent entirely original work. Where the work or words of others have been used, proper attribution must be provided through appropriate citation or quotation. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and will result in immediate rejection or retraction.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submission Authors must not submit manuscripts that describe substantially the same research to more than one journal simultaneously. Concurrent submission to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is strictly prohibited by this journal.
Acknowledgement of Sources Proper acknowledgement of the contributions of others is mandatory. Authors must cite all publications that have meaningfully informed or influenced the nature of the reported work.
Authorship Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made a genuine and significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All such individuals must be listed as co-authors. Others who have contributed in a more limited capacity should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgement section. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate co-authors are included, that no inappropriate co-authors are listed, and that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest All authors are required to disclose any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that may be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of funding for the research must be transparently disclosed.
Correction of Errors When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, they are obligated to notify the editor or publisher promptly. The author must cooperate with the editorial team to issue a correction, retraction, or erratum as appropriate.

Plagiarism Screening Policy
All manuscripts submitted to Manhajuna: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam will be screened for plagiarism prior to the peer review process using a designated plagiarism detection tool. Manuscripts with a similarity index that exceeds the acceptable threshold will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright, depending on the severity of the case. A similarity rate of no more than 25% is generally considered acceptable by this journal.
